Home About Women in Thoracic Surgery

The Women in Thoracic Surgery (WTS) is an incorporated non-profit organization. The Board of Directors includes the Officers (the President, Vice-President, Secretary/Treasurer, Immediate Past President) and Directors-at-Large.

The Officers also serve on the Executive Committee. The remainder of WTS Leaders, as elected by members and approved by the Board of Directors, serve as Chair, Co-Chair, or Liaisons. In the beginning, the WTS was a way for women cardiothoracic surgeons to network with each other, share ideas, professional advice, and discuss challenges that they faced with the purpose of finding solutions. Today, it still provides the earlier valued community connections in addition to working towards its missions and goals to improve the standing of ALL cardiothoracic surgeons, with an emphasis on women thoracic surgeons.
